Hegazy born in Alexandria 1936, lived in Tanta till early 50th, moved to Cairo1954. Arriving to Cairo he seeked work at several newspaper and magazines till meeting Hassan Fouad at El Tahrir presented his drawings, Fouad advised him to draw few cartoons and get back to him, He offered him a job as a cartoonist at El Tahrir publishing.  Later Hegazi moved to Rose El-Youssef magazine as a cartoonist 1956, and also worked at Sabah El-Kheir magazine.

Hegazy was considered one of the Top political cartoonists in Egypt and the Arab world where he criticized dictatorships and economic conditions. His most famous work is strip Tanablet Al-Sultan a comic series which was published several times, it reveals stories of three young boys who find different ways to connive and steal their way to become big players in the Egyptian economy and run away with their ill-gotten fortune. His cartoons focused on the contradictions of everyday life, and portrayed reality without too much exaggeration. Hegazy passed away 2011.
